Big West Festival’s irreverent homage to Japanese TV’s Iron Chef and the ubiquitous MasterChef, Tin Chef was staged against the backdrop of one of the western suburb’s best-loved institutions, the Food Court of the Footscray Market. This colourful event featured a judging panel including Matt Preston and representatives from Slow Food Victoria and the Fifteen Foundation, live performances from Born in a Taxi, music from DJ Fiona Scott-Norman, and hi-jinks from MCs Shirley Billing and David Nguyen.

For this project, Atticus Design wanted to create an identity that would not only capture the spirit of this event, but that would translate across the myriad cultures inhabiting and traversing through Footscray. It was also important that the identity and suite of collateral could hold its own within the visually crowded, ramshackle environment of the Footscray Market.
